ini ada crush revew lagi dari kritikus musik Scott Iwasaki:
Tapi itu kok Crush dibilang ballad yah?

Last week "American Idol" runner-up David Archuleta premiered his new single, "Crush," on "The Elvis Duran Morning Show" radio broadcast in New York.
Since then, the show as well as the single have had a load of hits on various Web sites.
While "Crush" isn't groundbreaking in ushering in a new music fad, the song is unobtrusive and pleasant.
The ballad, which can be heard on many Archuleta fan Web sites as well as YouTube, has a smooth and contemporary rhythm-and-blues feel. It shows off Archuleta's sincere delivery without going over the top. In fact, he kind of teases his fans and doesn't quite give the full-out belting that is so prevalent in soulful ballads played on adult-contemporary stations.
In doing so, Archuleta whets his fans' appetites for his full-length CD release later this year.
"Crush" was co-written by Jess Clayton Cates, Emanuel Kiriakou and former Evanescence member Dave Hodges.
And here's some more "American Idol" trivia — Hodges also helped write Kelly Clarkson's "Never Again," "Because of You" and "Addicted." So, with that track record, "Crush," should land on the Billboard Hot 100 on merit alone.
But as many people know, the Billboard Hot 100 is fueled by sales.
And "Crush" is guaranteed to hit No. 1 simply because it's sung by Archuleta. The song, which was originally supposed to be released to radio this coming Monday, will be available for digital download on Sept. 2, Rolling Stone magazine reported.
Earlier this year, Archuleta signed a recording contract with Jive Records. His debut CD is slated to be released on Nov. 4.
It is still unclear whether Archuleta will write some original material for the album, but he did express interest in songwriting in an interview last month.
Archuleta said he was gathering songs for his new CD but also said he would like to see if he could put one of his own songs on the release.
"I just hope that some of the songs I write are actually good enough to be on the CD," he said.pAsti bagus kok!!!

;)Kami menunggu lagumu archieeee..
http://deseretnews.com/article/1,5143,700248868,00.htmlMy colleague Oscar Dahl has made his thoughts on American Idol runner-up David Archuleta quite well-known. Oscar is enjoying a much deserved vacation this week, so I'm here to admit something to all of you: I like David Archuleta. The kid won me over the instant I heard his sob story about vocal paralysis during American Idol's seventh season. I rooted for him during the entire competition, even when I grew completely bored with his insistence on singing ballad after ballad for weeks on end. If you ask me, little Archie deserved to make it to the final two.
Archuleta's first single, entitled "Crush," appeared all over the Internet last week. Will it be a smash hit, or will it end up as forgotten as Justin Guarini's first release?
I definitely can't pretend to understand the music business. It seems completely impossible to predict what will be a hit in this day and age. I never would have guessed that songs like Amy Winehouse's "Rehab" or Leona Lewis's "Bleeding Love," both of which sound out of another era, would be huge singles. I also wouldn't have guessed that audiences would get all atwitter over the bland rock stylings of American Idol winner David Cook, so I'm certainly not the authority on popular music.
That being said, I'm impressed with "Crush." The song doesn't exactly set my world on fire, but I like the direction Archuleta has moved in. The single has an R&B tinge to it and more of a beat than you'd expect from the king of ballads. Check it out for yourself.
For reasons beyond my comprehension, E!Online is reporting that albums from both Cook and Archuleta will be released on the same day in November. Cook is teaming up with producer Rob Cavallo, who has worked with such artists as Green Day and Kid Rock, while Archuleta is collaborating with Rock Mafia Productions, who have created hits for Miley Cyrus and Mariah Carey.
The two Davids are obviously going for different sounds, but who will come out on top in the end?
Comparing "Crush" to Cook's first single, the horrendous "Time of My Life," I'd say that Archuleta has the advantage for now. At least his song doesn't mention magic rainbows.

ini gak maksud bashing cook loh..lucu ajah tapii..hehee..
