Personal Date

Milo Anthony Ventimiglia was born in Anaheim, California on July 8, 1977 and was raised in Orange County, California. He and his two older sisters came from a very loving and supportive family.

    * "My folks are my best friends and I love my two sisters. I wouldn't be the person I am today without them."

When Milo was 8 years old, he watched the Academy Awards with his family and knew he wanted to be on stage to entertain and make people laugh and cry. At 12 years old, Milo performed in Shakespeare's 'The Winter's Tale' at a local High School. It was his first real taste of being directed and having to know lines. At El Modena High School, Milo mixed with all types of people. He was the everyday, average student that people liked and respected.

    * "I was the halo and wings type of nice kid that parents never had to worry about."

He played a lot of sports and was a member of the School wrestling and drama clubs (both of which he still donates money to). He was also on the student council and waited to dive into show business because he didn't want to leave school or leave sports to do acting professionally. Milo always pushed himself to reach a higher potential. He took honors classes, but not because he was smarter than anyone else.

 * "I had to work twice as hard as the gifted kids, but because I did, it seemed like a natural progression to go to College."

Milo got into the Industry by luck. He wanted to do it, but just didn't know how. One day his mom introduced him to an old friend who was a photographer. She ended up taking his picture and showing it to an agent. At 18 years old, he started auditioning, booking jobs, and working his way up. He received a scholarship to attend the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco for their summer program. From there, Milo went on to attend the prestigious University of California (UCLA) where he could also be closer to the acting Industry. College became something very important to him.

* "You learn a lot about yourself and how to interact with people.... I learned so much about myself and about how the world works. I don't regret a second of it."

Milo left his freshman year to perform on 'The Fresh Prince of Bel Air' with Will Smith. He continued to perform on television shows, commercials, and in Independent feature films.

    * "Every job built my career in some way or made me grow as a person or I got to meet someone great."

Milo's breakthrough role came in 2001 on the hit WB series 'Gilmore Girls'. Originally, the character of Jess Mariano was made to only be a guest spot with the possibility of returning. However, after meeting with show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino during his studio test, they decided to make Milo a regular. Despite his love for acting, Milo would also like to work in other parts of the Industry, like directing.

Like his character Jess, Milo loves to read and listen to old punk music. Some of his favorite bands are the Hives, The Strokes, The Clash, The Distillers, Sex Pistols, No Doubt, and rare music on vinyl. He also enjoys working on muscle cars. He owns a '67 Chevelle Super Sport he named Evelyn and a 2002 Chevy Tahoe he named Sylvia.

His other hobbies include snowboarding, skateboarding, and photography.

Milo lives a very healthy lifestyle. He doesn't drink and is a life long lacto-vegetarian (he does eat dairy). He respects all forms of life and doesn't feel there is a need to take the life of an animal in order to satisfy ones own palate. Milo has been praised by his acting peers for his professional, sincere, and friendly disposition, all traits that his motto reflects.

Description: Four teenage friends on a night out on the town in L.A. sets this vibrantly honest portrayal of urban gay youth. Exploring basic emotions like love and jealousy, the film transports it's viewers into a pulsating world where sonic beats and electronic rhythms provide a voice for it's young protagonist's hopes and desires.
Facts:

    * Milo made this short when he was 18
    * It was Milo's first professional acting job
    * it took 4 nights to film it
    * filmed entirely on location in L.A.
    * Co starred Justin Urich (Sheer Bliss, Speedway Junky)
    * first shown at the Sundance Film Festival in January of 1996, then released theatrically with 3 other shorts as the movie 'Boys Life 2' on March 7, 1997

2. She's All That

Description: A modern retelling of George Bernard Shaw's story 'Pygmalion'. Freddie Prinze Jr. plays the cool high school dude who accepts a bet with a friend (Paul Walker) that he can transform the cause-conscious but nerdy Rachel Leigh Cook into a prom Queen.
Facts:
    * premiered on January 29, 1999
    * Milo has no lines in this movie. You see him walk through the front door and just as he's about to speak his scene was cut. You can also later see him leaving the house and bending down to tie his shoes. 2 more scenes of his were cut from the film, including a scene in the house that involved him and actor Kirin Culkin.

3. Speedway Junky

Description: A naive drifter (Jesse Bradford from 'Swimfan') runs away from his army father in hopes of making it on the car racing circuit in North Carolina. Instead he finds himself broke and stuck in Las Vegas and falls in with a group of hoods and street urchins. A coming-of-age story about loyalty, courage, and a young boys fight to hold on to his dream while surviving on the streets of Las Vegas.
Facts:
    * directed by Nickolas Perry who also directed Milo in 'Must be the Music'
    * also starred Justin Urich from 'Must be the Music' and 'Sheer Bliss'
    * executive produced by Gus Van Sant who directed 'Drugstore Cowboy' and 'Good Will Hunting'. It was seeing 'Must be the Music' that made Gus want to work with Nickolas Perry to do this film.
    * shooting began on June 1, 1998
    * shot in 24 days. Exteriors were shot on location in Las Vegas and L.A.
    * Location scenes were mostly shot at night between 6:30PM-7:00AM
    * budget was 1 million dollars

Description: The movie is an 80's teen comedy. It's a story about 4 high school buddies in the fictional seaside town of Mull, MA. _They are vulgarians and they are forever in search of booze, weed and townie chicks.
The main characters were:

Steve Moreno - Donza
Peter Simmons - Reddy
Milo's character was the preppie, brainy one who had an alcohol problem. _In one scene at a crazy high school house party, he was constantly telling everyone he needed to go home to study, despite the fact that he was drinking an entire bottle of Jack Daniels Then he got very drunk and collapsed on the porch.

    * Milo was 22 when he filmed this
    * it was made in the Summer of 1999
    * it took 5 weeks to shoot
    * it was shot in Hull, MA and Nantasket Beach

Description: A universal comment on suffering the typical frustrations of adolescence, this comedic short explores the dysfunctional world of one teenage kid (Billy, played by Christopher Kennedy Masterson of Malcolm in the Middle) and his quest for de-virginization.

    * won Best Short Narrative The Standin' on the Corner Award at the 2003 Winslow Film Festival in Arizona
    * NGFL director, Robert B. Martin Jr., was in the film 'Mystery Men' that was directed by Kinka Usher who directed Milo's 'Bad Cheetah' commercial

6. Winter Break
Milo's role: Matt Raymond
Description: After graduating from college, Matt decides to spend the winter in Aspen, Colorado with his school buddies instead of getting a job. But the vacation takes an unexpected turn when Matt falls in love with Michelle and must decide between money and his career or following his heart.

    * filmed almost 12,000 feet high up on the mountains- higher than what was filmed in the movie 'Vertical Limit'
    * shot 34 new scenes for the reshoots
    * the movie that Milo and Maggie are watching while on the couch is the film 'Baraka'
    * Unfortunately, the film was unable to find a distributor so it was never released in theatres.

Description: A brother and sister find themselves caught up in an unimaginable horror as a werewolf loose in Los Angeles changes their lives. The film is written by Kevin Williamson and Directed by Wes Craven (from the 'Scream' franchise).

    * The film went through many delays, rewrites, and cast changes before new scenes were filmed for its final release

Description: The film follows a group of young friends in New Orleans who reconnect for the funeral of a friend who died while playing a video game called 'Stay Alive'. They discover that the murders are being acted out in real life by the spirit of a local legend that might have come through the game with murderous intentions.

Facts:

    * The film began shooting on May 9th in Louisiana.
    * 'Spyglass Entertainment' will jointly finance and produce the film with Endgame Entertainment in exchange for worldwide rights.
    * The OC's McG is one of the producers.

10. Intelligence (2006)

Description: In present day Miami, Colin Mathers (Milo Ventimiglia), follows a hot lead to tie up his feature story and reveal new graphic details found behind closed doors in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. His lead is an elderly man (Bill Bolender) with the story of a lifetime who has much more "intelligence" than Colin could have ever imagined.

"Milo Ventimiglia being a natural born actor carries the role of the ambitious, young reporter Colin Mather in the most effortless, authentic way possible. Being supported by the experienced and talented Bill Bolender, this feature captivates, taking you to a dark, complex place that most films never get to. Director Allen Martinez's vision along with the team of stars he selected gives this film a strong yet provocative story that exposes a dark corner of American politics."

Award-winning director Allen Martinez, breathed life into this cinematic experience. A graduate of the Art Center College of Design, Allen's awards (AICP, ABA and Clio) have put his work in the permanent archives of the Museum of Modern Art – NY. Soon after, he was invited by executive producer Lawrence Bender (Goodwill Hunting, Pulp Fiction) to join Quentin Tarantino's company: A Band Apart. 11. Rocky Balboa (2006)
Rocky Balboa (2006): 1 hour, 42 minutes.
Milo's role: Robert Balboa Jr.
Description: Robert is the polar opposite of Rocky - a buttoned-down, corporate-minded businessman who is trying to carve out his own place in a very different world. Rocky's relationship with Robert is tumultuous because Robert has always had to live under the shadow of his famed father; he even believes that the only reason he was hired for his latest job was because of his last name, Balboa. But it is through the course of the movie that we see the relationship mend itself through Rocky's admonishment to his son that his life is his own and he must be willing to take the chances necessary for an opportunity to succeed.

Facts:
    * the film has a 38 day shooting schedule at a budget of $24 million
    * principal photography begins December 3 at the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas. The cameras will be recording crowd scenes that night at the real-life Bernard Hopkins-Jermaine Taylor middleweight title rematch for use in the movie
    * principal photography for the movie should be finished by February
    * the film is written and directed by Sylvester Stallone and will be similar to the tone and grit of the first two movies
    * was originally scheduled to be released on December 22, 2006, but was changed to December 20, 2006.
    * opened in first place in the UK

14. Chaos Theory (2008)
In Chaos Theory, Milo plays a lawyer, and shares the lead in the film. It also stars Rhys Coiro, Samantha Mathis, and Mimi Rogers, and is about the relationship between a naive attorney and his colleague and their fierce competition to move up in the firm and get ahead in life. It is an independent film.
