Blog Rafa... :D :D :D

Paste, salmon and Japanese food
January 15 .- Hello everybody.

Today was a quiet day as every day in Grand Slams, where between match and match there is always a day of rest. I got up at around 10.30 a.m., despite the fact that I slept quite late yesterday. If I recall correctly, was 3 o'clock in the morning. It's hard to fall asleep after a match that ended so late. Among the work that I have to do (I am not talk about this blog) with my physio and Rafel Maymo and with the adrenaline still high of the match, it costs me go to sleep.

In fact I take the advantage of tell you one thing that I said to Giorgio di Palermo, which is the 'tour manager' of the ATPfor when they do what we called in tennis ' schedule', thats means , the scheduling of matches with the referee of the tournament. Last year, I played all matches (or nearly all) night, late. The truth that is a bit a bummer because it does not give you time to rest properly.

I dont think that is fair, and the referees and the people who make these things have to take this into account. So tomorrow Ill play during the day. Is scheduled the second match at 11 am (01.00 in the morning in Spain) in the central court, in the Rod Laver Arena. I like more to play at this time in this tournament, so I am happy.

Perhaps I should change my habit of writing the blog at the end of the day, because this way Ill go to bed earlier. The fact is that as I say before, I got up a little late today, I trained at 1 a.m. with Falla, a Colombian player, very nice, I trained one hour and then I stayed at the club to eat something, Usual thing, my white paste with fish (salmon today), butter and little thing else. The hotel is very close to where the tournament is played, and the truth is that it's quite comfortable, as well as lovely walk from the tournament at the hotel.

I dont think that I ´told you before I was quite 'hooked' to the LOST series. I bought the DVD of the last two seasons. I have seen all. I ended up seeing in Shanghai and now I am watching Prison Break as I said you yesterday. So while give me massages I used to see chapters of the series. Today I saw a couple of them. Then in the afternoon, I went with Benito, my boss Press, and my uncle Toni to take a bath in swimming pool of the hotel. Thus also we took advantage of and we talk of the work plans. He doesnt stop. Tomorrow, if all goes well, I do some photos for Time Force at the hotel and one after the other. Anyway, I know that is what I have to do, so I am not complaining much.

At night we go out to dinner at a Japanese restaurant 'tepanyaki' style. It was before the start of the match of Federer,to be able to return to my room and watch the end. No way. It was super fast, so I knew the result while we finished our dinner. We have already gone to this restaurant about three or four times since I am here and the truth is that is one of the best ones than I have been. The chef who always serves us since years, is a very good guy and Friday, if Im still in the tournament, has said me that it comes to the match to see me, so I invited him along with his wife and son to come to the 'box' to watch the match . Good guy.

Tomorrow I am going to the club at 9 o'clock in the morning because I do the warm up at 9.45. As the second match of 11, (the first game is female, so it's the best of three sets), things can go quickly and be prepared to leave in the locker room.

See you tomorrow to all and thanks.

Blog lagi...... :D :D :D :D

January 16 .- Hello everybody.

Today I write you, again, late, although it would not be like that. I had the whole afternoon free after the match, but I think it is the habit of writing just the day is ending and when I go to sleep. As I say, today I had the afternoon virtually free. The reason is that I finished the match soon and after the press and eat something fast in the club, I came to the hotel, where I arrived at around 4.30. Early, compared to the other day.

I was asked if it changes much to play by day or at night and the truth is that yes. In all the ways. The ball, during the day and with the sun (and heat), going faster and service, serve, going faster. Also everything is different.I, here, prefer it.

And about a day itself, imagine, I finished at around 4 after making press conference, interviews with TV, eat, etc. And I was practically the whole afternoon free. It is very different. Almost like having two days off, because later I was in my room just resting, watching the series commented yesterday, playing in the Play and go down to the  swimming pool to swim something. Still, I have also tomorrow, where I train at 13.00 and virtually I have nothing else to do than prepare me for the next day.

Maybe even go for a walk by the Aquarium that is nearby of the hotel. If I had played at night, I would have been all day waiting for the match, training something in the morning and something in the afternoon. Then, the match, arrives late at the hotel like the other day and you are already put in the day pre-match, where you cant do almost anything for fatigue and for the work that must be done. As you can see, it changes a lot of things (for a tennis player, of course).

Today the anecdote outside of the match was in the warming up in the morning. In principle, I had planned to train with Agustin Calleri at 09.45.So I returned to the hotel. But when I arrived, I was told that Augustine preferred train at 10 on another court So, I found that we had to find someone to train 09.45 on the same Central court (Rod Laver Arena). And how we cant find anyone (that does the tournament if it is already too late), I warmed up this morning with my uncle Toni.

I like warm up if it is possible on the same court on which I play. I dont know why, maybe would be one of my odd habits. And also, at 10 was already a bit late, considering that I have much to be done before you are prepared to go on court. You never know if the match before yours is going to be very fast (which Henin was playing) and then I see myself in a hurry.

The Play. Something Ive played, I have to admit it . Not so much as in other tournaments, but yes, something we have played. Today I played with my Chief Press a roundtrip match. The two with the same team. As I won,the jerk  goes, and jumping, in an attempt that was not goal not even in a joke, He broke the stretcher where Maymo does the treatments to me. So tomorrow we will have to look for somebody so that it fixes it...

Tomorrow Ill train at 13.00 again, and as I say, surely is than after eating go for a walk and know the Aquarium that there is near the hotel.I think you all know how I love fishing and the sea in general, so I love going to aquariums and things of this kind. Even I remember the year I had the opportunity to swim with dolphins in Miami. Spectacular.

Greetings to all.

Nadal signing autographs after his match

17 of January. - Hello to all one more night. Well, night for me, although in Spain they are 10 hours less.

Today was a quiet day here in Melbourne. As I was told you yesterday that, playing during the day is better because you have that day and a half of rest before the next match, which is not bad. I had training at 13.00, so I left the hotel to 12 to arrive the tournament relaxed and be able to do what I always do before playing or training, thats means, taped my ankles, the knees, and to take all the precautions that I took before leaving to te court.

After the training and the logical shower, I had a fast lunch in the club and I returned to the hotel from where I am writing to you. At last, I didnt go to the aquarium as I planned. I arrived at the hotel at around 4 and I preferred to stay there and rest. Also I continued watching the series that already you know and I was receiving treatment from my physio. Today with some difficulties because the stretcher was broken as I said yesterday.

There were a meeting in the summit by the stretcher (hahahaha). We were looking how fixing it and nothing. Someone must have come to see if it is possible to be fixed but in the hotel told me that till tomorrow no one could come and fix it. Let's see if someone can come, if not is a little annoyance. In this case I would have to go to the tournament and there, in stretchers, to be treated. Nothing happens, It will be either better or worse, but honestly I prefer to do that in my room, quiet, watching TV.

Today I would like to make some comments about the incidents what happens between the local police with Greek fans. The truth is that I dont understand how it could be this kind of incident. If we, those we have risk on court, have a good relationship (or, more or less) it cant fix in my head how could be violence out of the courts. This is a sport, a game. There it must to be. I have a good relationship with Roger Federer, but on the court we want to win, but when the match is over, is over. So I do not understand why these confrontations. Hopefully and this does not continue growing.  Last year it happened too.

Tomorrow Ill play the third match in the central court, after two matches of girls. So, more or less, at around 2 or 3 in the afternoon if all goes well. It will be late in Spain, so I dont know if many of yours will watch it. Im fine and Ive trained well. So, and hopefully all goes well. We will see.

A greeting.

Rafa
