Olivia Wilde to play Lara Croft? Rep says no

Though some online were reporting on Wednesday that "House" and "Tron: Legacy" star Olivia Wilde has been cast as Lara Croft in a rumored "Tomb Raider" reboot, the actresses spokesperson tells OnTheRedCarpet.com that the reports are untrue.

The video game character has been on the silver screen before. Angelina Jolie played Croft in two feature films, first in 2001's "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider," then in the sequel "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life." Lara Croft first appeared as a protagonist in the 1996 video game "Tomb Raider."

The character holds the one Guinness World Record for "most recognized female video game character, and another one for "most official real life stand-ins."

Up next for Wilde is the summer action film "Cowboys & Aliens" with Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig. She's also set to star in "Butter" with Hugh Jackman, and "Now" with Amanda Seyfried and Justin Timberlake.

OLIVIA Wilde is “infatuated” with Hollywood hunk Ryan Gosling.

The actress — who is separating from her Italian-American husband Tao Ruspoli after more than seven years of marriage — has fallen for the 30-year-old Blue Valentine actor after they met at a post awards party earlier this year.

“Olivia is mad about Ryan and he is the same about her,” says a source close to Olivia.

“They have so much in common and now Olivia’s acting career is taking off, she feels Ryan understands her better.

“Olivia is keeping things low profile with Ryan but she wants to be with him in the long term.”

Olivia Wilde Says She and Justin Timberlake Are 'Just Friends'

Are Justin Timberlake and Olivia Wilde an item? Wilde says no way.

E! News reported that the two celebrities were caught getting cozy at the Roxbury in L.A. on Saturday night. A source even said, "They definitely looked like they were on a date."

However, Wilde is denying any rumors that she and Timberlake are dating, tweeting on Monday, “Cool it, honeybadgers. We are just friends and have been for years."

Sources also told People that the rumors are false, saying, “They happened to meet each other there. They weren't on a date. They've been friends since they worked together on Alpha Dog. Nothing's going on. They're just friends."

Wilde recently filed for divorce from her husband after eight years of marriage, and Timberlake also recently separated from longtime girlfriend Jessica Biel.
