First 3DS Pokemon Game: PokeDex 3D

The first Pokemon 3DS game has been revealed: PokeDex 3D, a free 3DSWare game which will be available through the Nintendo eShop when it opens this Monday, June 6th. The "game," which is more or less a basic PokeDex app, allows you to view fully rotatable 3D models of all officially revealed Black and White Pokemon along with their general information, PokeDex entries, and movepools. You will also be able to use the 3DS' built-in Augmented Reality to superimpose the Pokemon models into photos you take with your 3DS camera. Click the thumbnails below for larger screenshots of the game.

When you first download the application, you will only be able to look up information on 16 Pokemon. The rest of the PokeDex entries can be unlocked by scanning QR Codes, using StreetPass (when your 3DS passes by someone else's 3DS and they trade data), or by using SpotPass (when your 3DS downloads information when connected to Wi-Fi; you will only be able to download three random PokeDex entries per day through this method).

Pokemon News: September is Zoroark Month
This month to be filled with Zoroark-related activities.

Fans of the shape-shifting fox rejoice -- The Pokemon Company has officially dubbed September Zoroark month. The company is celebrating the popularity of the creature, one of the breakout stars of the recently released Pokemon Black and White, with a host of activities throughout the month.

Planned events include a Zoroark-themed sweepstakes, a special Zoroark character distribution at participating Toys "R" Us stores nationwide, and a two-day airing of the movie Pokemon- Zoroark: Master of Illusions on the official Pokemon website.

From now until October 3, Zoroark enthusiasts can visit this page to enter for a chance to win a Zoroark Grand Prize package, which includes a Nintendo 3DS, one copy each of Pokemon Black and Pokemon White, the Zoroark- Illusions Collection box for the Pokemon Trading Card Game, a box of Pokemon TCG booster packs from the Black & White- Emerging Powers expansion set, a deluxe Zoroark action figure, a Zoroark: Master of Illusions DVD, and the Zoroark: Master of Illusions manga.

25 additional winners will be drawn each week, each of whom will run away with the second prize package, including the Master of Illusions DVD, the Zoroark- Illusions collection box, and a Zoroark action figure.

Additionally, from September 18 through September 25, Toys "R" Us stores nationwide will be offering a special Zoroark character distribution. Just bring your copy of Pokemon Black and/or White -- along your your Nintendo DS, DSi, DSi XL, or 3DS system -- to a participating store to download the illusive Pokemon. This Zoroark, not normally available in-game, arrives at Level 50 and knows the move Snarl.

If that's not enough Zoroark for you, you can also catch a presentation of the full-length movie, Zoroark: Master of Illusions, September 17 and 18 on the Pokemon website.The movie follows Ash and his companions, along with their new Pokemon friend Zorua, as they try to uncover the secret behind the immense and powerful forces at work as the three Legendary Pokemon -- Raikou, Entei, and Suicune -- rampage through Crown City. A DVD copy of the movie will be available for purchase at major retailers nationwide September 20.

Pokémon Game Announcement Incoming? + Mewtwo Event

TV Tokyo has posted the summary for the episode of Pokémon Smash, a variety show that covers all aspects of the franchise, due to air next week on Sunday 18th of September. In this summary, it mentions that Pokémon Game Creator, Junichi Masuda is set to appear on the show with a massive shock announcement. While it is possible that the announcement could be unrelated to a new game such as the reveal of Keldeo or the other new Pokémon, his announcements in the past similar to this have ended up being new games. This follows on from Pokémon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara hinting that there are more surprises coming this year. If it is a game announcement, it's possible that the reveal of this game will be in CoroCoro, which is due any day now and/or in Nintendo's special 3DS conference in Japan on Tuesday morning. We'll bring more on this, including confirmation on the announcement as and when it comes.
Edit @ 20:58 BST; The official site's Pokémon Smash site also details this, but doesn't reference Masuda's appearance, but states that "Latest Game Information" is to be revealed. This does not necessarily confirm the above, but leads in the right direction
Edit @ 00:34 BST; Something that may destroy the flames; Pokémon Smash's episode just aired in Japan and mentioned that Mewtwo is to be given away through an event soon with details to be revealed next week. The preview showcased Masuda coming in and showing a sign, blanked out, with a caption saying that there's a revelation of the Present.
